News published the last weekend in the newspaper El Mundo | Actualidad Económica.

The newspaper La Razón in the IV edition of its business excellence awards held last night, awarded our company the sustainability and environment award, commitment to decarbonization. Among other personalities, the Vice President and Minister of Education of the Community of Madrid, Enrique Ossorio, and the director of the newspaper, Francisco Marhuenda, presented the prizes.

To all the team that are part of the project, it gives us special satisfaction to receive this recognition. Since the beginning and especially since 2019, we have focused our entire strategy, mission and philosophy on being a sustainable company. By working with a raw material as generous as aluminum, we could not miss the opportunity to focus our orientation towards a 360º policy committed to the environment and we understand this as part of our business benefit.

For all this, we have set ourselves 3 objectives: developing our environmental plan based on sustainability, energy efficiency and circularity, achieving climate neutrality by 2030 by certifying the CO2 carbon footprint on an annual basis and finally reaching the 0 emissions in the year 2050.

ALUMINERA has obtained the verification of her carbon footprint for the 2021, by Certification Body DNV. This is an important achievement of the company, who is now one of the first companies of the Spanish Aluminium sector taking this initiative. With this Aluminera strengthen her commitment with the sustainability and the respect for the environment within her strategic plan and growth for the next years.

The company expect the finish of her new photovoltaic plant with a power of 850Kwp before of the end of November 2022, with an annual production of more than 1.200.000 Kwh, with this is going to reduce even more the % of the emissions during the next years.

Aluminera’s company has begun working this July with the installation of its 850 kWp photovoltaic power plant with a production per year of 1,200,000 kWh, which is the equivalent of 35% its annual electricity consumption.

The photovoltaic installation is already under construction with an estimation of being able to produce energy from next September, although the assembly technicians have confirmed that they could be able to progressively connect each of the 7 zones that the installation is divided into, and individually, as the assembly progresses.

Another important novelty about the installation is the use of an innovative aluminum mounting system at the market, as does not require mechanical anchoring into the roof, guaranteeing any damage at all in the roof, as well as a quick installation and greater security, it is a huge avant-garde assembly that MASPV ENERGY, the installation company guarantees within its global proposal in the construction at Aluminera plant.

Aluminera, by this way, adds to its plan of reducing its footprint carbon by using more green energy in its production process as well as what it had already been doing using 100% renewable origin electrical energy, in addition to the reduction of energy consumption, and a lower dependency on volatile energy costs such as those we have to live with, and a huge an clear commitment to improve the environment as a company policy.

On June 30, the period of complete internship training for Student Pol Mora ended, who has been doing dual internships in the maintenance area of our company for a year.

Today he has been given his diploma accrediting recognition of work, learning and performance well done, where he has been able to have his first experience with the world of work from the theoretical-practical training that corresponds to his age.

At Aluminera, we want to place special emphasis on our commitment to the young people of the future, and Pol is a perfect example of this. We are very happy with your development in the company, dedication and commitment, and we want to recognize this, we are sure that you will get where you want. Aluminera has participated in the supply of the entire curtain wall building for the new DASSAULT AVIATION headquarters in Merignac-France, where we have manufactured the entire Aluminum structure that covers the facades of the entire building, including extrusion and painting of profiles. A custom design has been made for this project through two of our clients COVERIS – LABROSSE, which has ended with the completion of the building inaugurated on September 21, 2021. We want to thank our customers for the trust allowing us
to collaborate in the manufacture of aluminum profiles for this important project.

Today, at Aluminera, September 21st, 2021, we celebrate the third anniversary of the acquisition of the first production unit that was purchased to start an aluminum profile extrusion project in Spain. We want to share this moment with all our clients, suppliers, partners and with the entire team that is part of the company. And we do it today, the same day of the opening of the Third Production Shift, starting to produce 24 hours continuously.

This news is one more step towards the development of our company where we continue to walk with the roadmap that was designed at the beginning of the project in September 2018, when we started this ambitious journey. With this new stage, we will achieve greater production, optimization, service improvement and position the company one more step towards the goal set. To get here, we can only thank the trust of all our customers, suppliers and workers, the effort of all of them allows the company to carry on taking more industrial speed in its market activity.

Once we have reached this point, our next step will be to install a second production line that will allow us to have an annual production capacity close to 20,000 tons per year by mid-2023, in this we have already put all
our effort and work to carry it out.
